HA Dermal Fillers

In skincare products and injectable treatments, hyaluronic acid (HA) is used as a humectant — a substance that helps the skin hold on to water. It helps hydrate the outer layers of skin, thereby improving the skin's appearance.

HA is a sugar molecule that occurs naturally in the skin, and it binds to water to plump up your skin, giving it a dewy, glowy effect. The collagen in our dermis forms the structure of the skin. Natural hyaluronic acid is bound to collagen on one side and links to water molecules on the other, giving skin its plumpness.

In dermal fillers, HA presents as a gel-like product that, once injected, attracts water to regenerate volume and recreate lost structure.

AFTER

Benefits

More ways to preserve your youthful appearance

Instead of just erasing wrinkles, the versatile injectables can perform lip augmentation, chin augmentation, and even neck rejuvenation.

Natural looking

The results of dermal filler injections look natural because the active ingredient HA is a chemical compound found in the foundational layers of our skin.

Durable and long-lasting

The results of volume-adding treatments are durable. Depending on the formulation you choose, the final results can last anywhere from six months to two years.

BEFORE

Who needs it?

A combination of factors can cause facial lines. It’s not just about the cellular changes that may occur, or reduction of collagen, or damage caused by the sun and your environment.

Those with dry and/or more mature skin will benefit the most from using hyaluronic acid. The injectable gel helps correct age-related volume loss and augmentation of the region, which needs to improve the profile in adults over 21.

Treatment Areas

Forehead/Cheek/Lip/Corner of Eyes/Chin/Neck

Dermal Filler Injection is an non-surgical alternative. It can add volume to plump lips, smooth lines, or lift & contour cheeks.

FAQ

The Answers You Need

Does it hurt?

Certain areas, including the lips (which are full of nerve endings), can feel like a pinch or a bee sting, while others are less sensitive. That said, all JUVÉDERM® products with “XC” in the name are formulated with lidocaine, a temporary numbing local anesthetic, to help reduce discomfort. Plus, many providers will offer to apply a topical numbing cream to the area before your treatment to help reduce injection pain and also ice afterwards to help soothe.

How long does it take for HA filler to settle?

While you can undergo an invasive medical procedure to address one of your cosmetic concerns at a time, you will be waiting between 6-12 months to see the final results of treatment. And they're not even permanent! With dermal filler injections, you will be waiting 14 days at most for the filler to settle.

How many different types of JUVÉDERM® Filler are there?

There are five unique JUVÉDERM® fillers for different patient needs. They are used to add volume to your cheeks, shape the chin, enhance lips with your desired volume, or smooth lower face wrinkles.
